THat is suuuch an overpay for Malkin, man. Plus, his contract would probably run out before our window opens, so it's completely pointless.

You can also get a much better center than Dylan Strome on the market, like Andrew Copp or.. you know, Ryan Strome?

I’m a big fan of the moves here and the salaries for both Strome & Puijujarvi. Both of those guys have some talent but come with some question marks/concerns so, the contracts are appropriate.

Malkin is a nice add and considering our ample cap space and the fact that it’s just a two year deal, I actually wouldn’t be upset if we did something like that. I would imagine tho, $9.5m would suffice to get him into the fold.

Zadorov isn’t great but his contract is reasonable here and I like the physicality he brings. He could possibly turn a corner playing alongside Seider and would be really fun to watch those guys throwing opposing players all over the ice. In the same token, having a guy like Zadorov dishing out a majority of the physical play could help in keeping Seider fresh.

You could pay less for Malkin but it would require more years.

I don’t think it would be pointless to bring in a player like him onto a young inexperienced team in the midst of a culture switch.

He would serve as an elite centreman that would allow for our young wingers to develop and brings a winning culture to the team that, in my opinion, are invaluable components. When he’s gone, Kasper will be up.

Ryan & Andrew both will cost likely much more annually and term-wise.
