Don't know why carolina gets rid of deangelo at 5M for 2 just to get worse barrie for 500k less

also giroux probably gets more from ottawa or some other eastern team

500k less and a bonus second round pick.. Barrie is the exact same or better than deangelo. The 500k and the second round pick they got from deangelo goes a long way for a cap contending team on deadline day.

maybe barrie is better defensively but thats not really what matters for pp specialists

Barrie didn’t play full season on op as Bouchard got some time, same with nurse, Barrie also played bottom pair Mins as Bouchard passed him 5v5. If there was no Bouchard Barrie would’ve been close to league lead in points for a dman against like last year he was 1st

maybe barrie is better defensively but thats not really what matters for pp specialists
