This is a great looking Leafs team with Gibson, Copp and Rakell.

Anaheim wouldn't sniff the playoffs this season WITH Nylander and Gibson, and won't sniff the playoffs for the next two seasons with Nylander but without Gibson, after which Nylander leaves for an actual contender, so what's the upside of this trade for Anaheim?

It would be best to think of this as actually having two Jackets trades here. One is a 4th for Holl, which is hypothetically acceptable presuming Kekalainen thinks Holl will help the roster (us Jackets fans don't have a strong consensus on that). The other is Kerfoot in any possible trade or transfer to the Jackets at all, with or without assets coming back, which owing to his unsuitability for our roster and our competitive timeline given his price has been a constant and consistent "no, stop it, please for the love of G-d go away and leave us alone" for one-two-three THREE (3) YEARS.

No no we wouldn’t. Where would kerfoot play? Realistically. Who is he better than or who does he have more potential than? He’s a rental. We have 18 nhl caliber forwards who need time. He isn’t top line material so he’s not what we’re looking for.

The upside is that Anheim unloads Gibson and his $6,400,000 Cap Hit for the next 5 years while it is rebuilding and wants to finish at the bottom of NHL to ensure great draft picks like possibly Berard..........and can also trade off Nylander at any time if necessary.

Jackets can trade him out at the trade deadline if necessary.

We do not care about such excuses; we've been hearing them since before you were a member of this site and no longer have the patience to keep debating it. We do not want him, we have never wanted him, and any trade that includes him is unacceptable. Full stop. If "move at the trade deadline" is acceptable, you can do it. If you need the cap space, talk to someone else. The Columbus Blue Jackets are not open for business if that business includes Kerfoot in any capacity.

Or here’s the thought. Come up with another team that needs him. Makes more work for us so like real gms not a good solution.

Jackets finally have a competent GM rebuilding the team the right way through the draft.......Just need to trade out one specific forward and team is headed on the right road.

Chicago could use him as well once Strome, Kane and Toews are traded out next.

Great! So then cut us out and make a move with them. I don’t get the purpose of our convo. We don’t want anything to deal with kerfoot. Leafs should move Him to anywhere else.

He actually put up 50 points with no PP time and is great on the PK and can play up or down in a lineup .........so think you might not be seeing the entire picture with this player.

STOP. STOP IT. Just stop already. We don't care, okay? It's been three years. THREE YEARS. We Do. Not. Care. Anymore. Whatever you think you're adding, you're not. Whatever new information you think you've come up with, you haven't. We don't care. We're not prepared to listen anymore. Because it's Kerfoot. It has always been Kerfoot. For over a thousand days, Kerfoot Kerfoot Kerfoot Kerfoooooooot. No. No more. We do not care and we don't want to hear it. The answer is no. The answer will always be no. End of debate.

We will happily discuss with you just about any other Leafs player you want to discuss. The answer may not always be a good one for y'all's proposals, but we can at least still debate. But not Kerfoot. We're done with Kerfoot.

Would you take the time to look at the entire CBJ picture? It really seems like no Leafs fan trying to shove Kerfoot down the CBJ's throat has bothered to yet.

Nope. Now your going back to the original premise. Who do you replace. Sillinger, Jenner, roslovic or kuraly. Not Jenner he’s the team captain, not roslovic or kuraly they are both home town hero’s who are vital to our teams efforts. (Roslovic is just as good as kerfoot and kuraly is a fantastic 4c.). If I need to justify sillinger then we are truly at an impasse. We don’t need a middle 6 center.

It's only because when you want to trade someone and know they have value you scroll through the team list alphabetically and CBJ is always the first team you look at. It's not about thinking it's a fit. It's just any team to move them.
I'd move them for free but then more leafs fans who come complaining.

Let’s see, the roster for the Jackets as we speak looks like this:

Laine-Roslo-Voracek
Texier-Silly-Bjorkstrand
Gus-Jenner-Bemstrom/Foudy
Robinson-Kuraly-Danforth

Now, consider the Jackets have guys like Chinakhov, Johnson, and Marchenko trying to play themselves onto the roster. The Jackets have no need for a player like Kerfoot who at best is a second liner but more of a 3rd liner. The Jackets have tons of players that can play there. Kerfoot is not going to the Jackets.

It's like talking to these guys about Muzzin to Los Angeles or Gibson-hasn't-been-good-for-three-years-so-he-should-come-cheap-because-we-want-him-for-five-seasons. You're trying to reason with guys that love GPS because they used to have to find their way home by spreading breadcrumbs.

Listen. Nick Ritchie would be your best forward on your team. You should be thankful we thought of you when discussing a trade of this caliber.
Please no need to thank me. I know I’m amazing. Literally what I feels like. lol
