Tanev overrated

Description
there is no way the canucks will get drouin or sam reinhart for Tanev. The only way they can get those two players is if they are willing to trade some picks. Virtanen can really benefit playing with sutter and Eriksson they are good players. Demo can compete for the backup role and also miller can teach him how to play in the nhl

Secondly how can Miller mentor Demko?

One will be in Utica the other in Vancouver if he re-signs

Blues don't need another 30-something LD especially for that price; trying to make room for the young guys. Not the best fit.

I see plenty of people on here getting Sam Reinhart back for Tanev. I will back up what you said. Sabres will not do that. Not a chance.

I agree he is overrated. Someone recently said he's the 3rd best defensive d-man in the league.

What? You say Garrison at 4.6m is a cap hit for Tampa, but then you give 4.4m Tanev. That 200,000 hardly helps Tampa's cap. Blues have cap issues, and just taken on Elder 5m. Now if they wanted to trade Lehteran to the Canucks, maybe it's closer to a deal.

wat are u saying tanev can easily make there top 4 while Garrison is not even good enough for there top 6

I think many of you are under rating Tanev. See http://hockeyanalysis.com/2017/05/07/who-should-leafs-target-to-improve-defense/ for a nice read. The fact that there are very few right handed d-men with his peripherals available just increases his value. Considering Shattenkirk ( a one dimensional rental ) fetched a first at the TD, Tanev should get a 1st AND a good ( not great ) prospect that is ready to play at minimum. Anything less and it makes no sense for Benning to trade him.
