I think you should have a 3rd team eat another 50% off Kaner. He's already been paid his signing bonus on July 1st...so which ever team retains the extra $2,125,000 only pays $775,000. Not a lot of money. I'm sure AZ would pay that for a decent prospect.

My original thought was for the NYR to trade for BOTH Toews and Kane. Fix both issues. They have the same contract. One goes to AZ the other...IDK...ANA or DET???

Hmmm interesting. I'd prefer to go a little younger for 2C. Especially w his sub par year last year coming back from injury.

You could still play Chytil at 2C if you think he can develop there. Toews is still 59% at the dot and plays ok the PK.
