Keeping Klingberg is financially realistic should they question mark

Description
Personally I don’t think they should. It’s a lot of money tied up to one guy who will be 37, maybe even 38 if they give him the 8 year deal. I also think Klingberg is underpaid in this scenario, as I think he will get more on the open market

Imo he had a rough playoffs and it could be a sign of things to come. There are better options out there

Barrie does exactly the same thing Klingberg does, and will be much cheaper AND could be had for cheap as Edmonton tries to clear more cap space. Ethan Bear is another very solid option

Again, Klingberg isn’t a financial issue, it’s a term issue. If they wanted to sign him to what he’s asking for they can

Since Klingberg wants to leave I doubt you can make him stay

Can't think of any team that has the desire to pay JK that much $$ and term. Neither should Dallas,

Agreed - I’m very concerned that the Canes will give JK too much term in UFA. I think he’s a good player but more than 4-5 years with him is too much.

I agree with all of you. Definitely don’t think they should bring him back if he’s looking for the term. Like you said a 4-5 year deal? Sure but anything more and I’m out. He’s earned the right to go lookin for that in FA so I’d let him. Just not worth it at all

Yea the absolute max i'd go is 5 years, around 6-7 mil. Especially if Morrow turns out to be the real deal.

Detroit declines. We let him walk, we're not paying to get him back.

The only problem with your scenario is you have used up all the cap. We still need to fill out our roster with 3 more players.

Am I missing something? I thought all rosters were suppose to have 23 players

My bad I didn’t see the use of the 4 rookies. I admit 9 times out of 10 I scroll right past the roster portion.
