What is your opinion on that defense : Matheson-Savard Edmundson-Barron Harris-Wideman Schueneman. I think they will get overwhelmed on the forecheck and they will be stock in their own zone forever lol

I think they’ll produce little to no offense and meh defensively, so pretty much the perfect tanking D-core

Barron wil not make the team this year. I'd rather see them play Bowey in NHL and yeah learn to play the d-zone ! mwahahaha it's going to be hard for them, but so cool to have Bedard or Dvorsky.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/player-compare/
use this link, you can input any two players and compare their stats

i would assume 1.75 is too low, ideally you want a three year bridge to see if he can become your 2C at some point. and it lines his deal up to end at the same time as dvorak's so if he becomes your good 2C you can use dvorak's money to resign him, and evans/beck/smilanic/mesar (listed as RW/C/LW) can take over as 3C

Guhle and Slafkovsky won't play in World Juniors this August, meaning they should at least get 9 games with MTL. With Byron on LTIR, we should have the needed cap space to be compliant.

Harris starts with Laval, then swaps with Guhle for the season.

If Price is healthy, try to trade Allen before the start of the season or else we could lose Monty on waivers.

We play veterans who could fetch some return at TDL and let the kids develop in Laval, with a solid team that will a have a great shot at the Calder Cup.

Opening night:
Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Caufield
Dadonov-Dach-Anderson
Drouin-Dvorak-Gallagher
Hoffman-Evans-Armia

Matheson-Savard
Edmunson-Schueneman
Guhle-Wideman

Price-Montembeault

Extras: Pitlick-Pezzetta-Bowey

After 9 games:
Drouin-Suzuki-Caufield
Dadonov-Dach-Anderson
Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pitlick-Evans-Armia

Matheson-Savard
Edmunson-Schueneman
Harris-Wideman

Price-Montembeault

Extras: Pezzetta-Bowey

After TDL:
Ylonen-Suzuki-Caufield
Pitlick-Dach-Anderson
Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pezzetta-Evans-Armia

Matheson-Savard
Edmunson-Schueneman
Harris-Wideman

Price-Montembeault

Extras: Bowey

Mysak, Mesar, Harvey-Pinard, Norlinder, Fairbrother, Xhekaj, all get some games for evaluation. Barron should also be called up in case of injuries, but I see him getting Top 2 D spot with Guhle with Laval.

If this is true, hitting 15 rookies for nhl level would be one if not the biggest pool ever made in a 5 years span for our team.

As I’m sure most of you know, I’m still strongly of the opinion that the NHL stopped existing after June 24th, 2021, but I might make a small exception for April 29th, 2022. It was a nice end to an abysmal season for the team, and a good sendoff for the team’s greatest player of this century and the greatest goalie of his generation.

Carey Price means so much to me, as he does for a lot of people. He was a big factor in me becoming a habs fan in the first place, and has always been a steady fixture for the habs in my mind. Whenever Carey was playing, you knew that there was always a chance of something special happening. Price meant there was always a reason for hope, even if the habs were barely squeaking into the playoffs, or outmatched on paper. Even after having so many injury issues, Carey still lead the habs to the astonishing upset of Pittsburgh in 2020 and the magical run to the cup finals in 2021. I find it impossible to think of the modern Canadiens without thinking of Carey Price, and the current habs will feel especially foreign without him in net. It’s a tragedy that Carey and a lot of the other players we have had over the years were never able to lift Lord Stanley’s Mug, but I’m still so extremely grateful for all that he did to bring hope and joy into the lives of habs fans everywhere.

Price is a true legend, and I look forward to seeing him join the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2025, 20 years after the habs made what turned out to be a franchise-defining choice by choosing him 5th overall.

Nice tribute to Price.

I lived in Hamilton in the late 2000’s, where I occasionally attended Bulldogs games. At that time they were the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate. They had a pretty good goalie named Jaroslav Halak, but one year, after finishing third in their division, they decided to try bringing in a junior goalie for their playoff run. The experiment worked, as he led them to a championship and was voted playoff MVP. That goalie was Carey Price. My son and I were there when he hoisted the Calder Cup. It’s the only time I’ve seen a professional team win a championship in person, so I’ve always remembered him most for that. I knew he was a big-game player long before those habs playoff performances.
