Isles are most likely not in the market for a LD anymore, with Romanov added and Aho/Salo signing today their D is set.

I think the Islanders are done adding defensemen. If anything, they will probably sign a cheap vet to be the #6-7 as insurance.

In the current stage of where Buffalo's rebuild is, Adams has repeatedly emphasized that he won't block the path of their young players playing and developing - so the hometown angle of adding Foligno doesn't make sense, nor do the Sabres really have any space in the forward group for him.

There's a reason why Sweeney let Krug walk, that's a god awful contract for a player like Krug.

Yeah I'd do a 3rd, hes played well before but he's kind of a smurf.

I would as well but I can't see Yzerman trading for a 5'9" dman.

Obviously a 5th and 7th are insufficient to take on nearly $4,000,000 salary.
It cost the Islanders 2 seconds and a third to move Andrew Ladd's $5,500,000 AVV for two years, who actually had more goals 7 v 2, in fewer games 41 to 64 than Nick.
On the other hand, if there was adequate compensation, Nick could sit in the press box until there was an injury.
If the Bruins were to offer a second or two thirds after the $1,000,000 bonus was paid, it would be difficult to pass.
