It's not an update, did you delete the previous post. Manson, I like.....Dermot I think is going to be a good NHLer. Rychel and Leivo are iffy NHLer at best. 3rd year and 4th year pro that haven't cracked the NHL don't have much trade value. Just don't see the Ducks trading a good cheap NHLer for "maybes"

Dermott and Neilson will both be top 4 defencemen in the NHL in a couple years.

If I am Toronto I give this deal some real hard thought. I don't think Rychel really offers much additional value to this deal and I think you Kapanen is more valuable in a trade than Leivo. So if you offered ANA our 2nd round draft pick, Kapanen and Dermott, I'd call that trade a done deal. I know the Leafs are super high on Travis Dermott, so it'd be a tough deal for them to make, even if they are getting Josh Manson.

Yeah for the millionth time Manson isn't getting dealt, Bieksa waives his NMC and Vatanen is dealt.

Ya tbh probably pretty close value but I would really prefer to keep Dermott, some of his underlying metrics deem him to be a top pairing defenseman and even if that's a little aggressive we shouldn't be trading away that potential

I know what Ducks fans are saying about wanting young returns but ultimately their cup window with Getzlaf and Perry is closing soon and JVR might be best bet

Yeah this is the type of package the Ducks are looking for! I have no problem giving up Dermott a projectable 3/4 in the deal! Leivo will never play under Babcocks system!

Not too often I agree with Larkiniskingbut he is correct. A more thoughtful discussion would be the Leafs getting a known RHD Vatanen and more expensive than Manson for lets say Dermot, Rychel and Leivo.
We kinda know what Vatanen is and would Ducks gamble that Dermot can be an NHL Dman. Would the Leafs gamble that Dermott is going to better than Vatanen and cheaper certainly in the short term and potentially a longer career.

I actually agree with you on this. Even though you think the D are valued low for the ducks. I'll try this for you.
These are hockey trades. No bullshit draft picks or "prospects" there is a reason they are "prospects" they aren't NHL ready and possibly never be NHL ready. I'm also going to post this on your Ducks Thread too.
