Description

Not much to say, I like Murray but he'll be moved to save real dollars, same type of package could go to oilers instead of leafs. Marino is the best possible option on D in my opinion. I took the opportunity to let go of brannstrom as they will look to refill their D pool, and connor brown with 1 year left isn't likely to be enough. Hopefully Giroux sees Ottawa is serious after the Debrincat trade and decides to come home. Let me know how I'm wrong in the comments.

Connor Brown is one of the most defensively sound players in the league, he led the sens in goals during the shortened covid season, and consistently leads our forwards in time on ice. Brannstrom was the main return in the mark stone trade, hes a former 15th overall pick and is a smaller puck moving defenseman who's best skill is his breakout passes.

would cost more than a 4th and a 7th for the Leafs to take Murray at 4-4.5M.

I imagine the Leafs reported interest in Murray, is on account of Ottawa retaining half and finding a 3rd team to retain another portion

Fair point, I imagine the sens would retain up to half and maybe even include a forward prospect like recent memorial cup winner philippe daoust if that's something the leafs would entertain
