This trade doesn't really make sense for the Pens. Value-wise it's probably so-so, but if this were to happen you'd either need to take more salary back in the form of someone like McGinn or retain more on one of the players. That said, moving Marino for Petry makes little sense.

I 100% would, but he unfortunately has every canadian team on his list. I learned not too long ago because his wife is not allowed to leave the country with her child from her first husband lol, so he has to live in the US.

McGinn is a useful player though. No interest?

Devils have no interest in Hoffman, let alone to pay a 3rd.

We already want to get rid of AJ, Tatar, and Zacha, and they all can do what Hoffman can.

Oh really I didn’t know that.. I think it would be for the purpose of MTL buying him out so maybe that changes it?
I’m not opposed to McGinn as I’m sure dadonov and maybe armia will get traded at some point later in the year depending on how they play

If it's for purposes of buying him out then I'm sure it works. I guess that would have to be pre-negotiated for him to waive, but I guess stranger things have happened.

McGinn is definitely a useful player, but player the Pens can afford move given other options in the lineup. He has a little too much term, but his cap-hit is fair and probably someone you can flip at some point if desired.
