At this point ottawa sees their division rivals floundering for a goalie and will not pay to get him out, will be cheaper to move him next offseason and it makes no sense to trade a first to get him out, especially to a team that needs a goalie.

Andrew Ladd was traded to Arizona for two seconds and a 3rd that won’t convey. Ladd had been an AHL player for two straight years. Matt Murray is just a goalie who has had some bad luck and plays for Ottawa lmao

If it costs a 1st , Ottawa will buy him out. It didn’t cost this much to dump Mrazek did it? Ottawa will retain 50% and see what they get

Toronto moved down 13 slots in the draft or something like that. Also Murray is a better goalie than Mrazek if he’s healthy. That might help make up for the difference in salary between the two players.

Also just to clarify. I don’t think the Isles would make this deal if they had to do it all over again. They basically turned the Ladd contract into the Palmieri contract and even tho I like Palmieri you couldn’t justify that after last year.

Mrazek has the same number of years and makes 2.5 less than Murray. But Murray is probably worth 2.5 million more than Mrazek because Mrazek grades out worse than most mens league goalies. Btw I’m not saying I’d rather have the Murray contract, but I also don’t think Chicago or Ottawa would agree to a one for one deal.

Leafs fans remind me of the Riddler in the new Batman movie. They are internet trolls who think they are being persecuted. Leafs fans are quick to anger and seem like they would be prone to violence. It’s almost like they are Americans tbh lmao

Holtby is retiring

Matt Murray is not good. It would have made more sense for Dubie to count on a Mrazek comeback then trade for full price Murray.
