I'm not sure if the Flyers agree to that. I don't think it's a horrible ask tho.

Agreed I don’t think the values too far off but to trade to a division rival it’s rare

I feel buying from a division rival means you’re over paying

Might have to make those picks a first lol

Debatable I mean Fylers just got Deangelo from a division rival

Carolina wasn't going to be able to afford DeAngelo as an RFA....They have 9 holes to fill on that roster with around $19 million to spend....If DeAngelo's asking price was between 4-5 million plus wanting to try and bring back Trochek (probably 6 mil/yr), Domi (probably $4 mil/yr), and Neiderreiter (probably $5-6 mil a year) it doesn't leave much room to stay as competitive without too much turnover in the roster.

Except Carolina has a ton of cap space they already got their top 6 pretty much set and their d core is 1 d man away from being ready I think they pay to move Gardiner and could’ve easily afforded Deangelo they’ve also only got 5 spots to fill on their roster and majority is bottom players that will pretty much all be less than 2 million except Necas who will be just over 3 and have RFAS to sign that will all be cheap and Neiderreiter is like 4-5 million max, the reason I think Deangelo was moved was locker room issues but they don’t want to say anything because that would lower his value

Plus DeAngelo wasn't that great during Carolina's playoff run in the defensive zone. I still think Neiderreiter gets more then 4-5 million even if its just a 1 year deal. Plus freeing up the DeAngelo money, regardless of reason, allows them to use that money to upgrade areas for a deeper playoff run.
