  1. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)
2.
ANA
  1. Holl, Justin
Additional Details:
This is a trade that makes sense for both teams. The ducks need to make room for Dostal and need D help. The Leafs need a capable backup
3.
TOR
  1. Murray, Matt ($3,125,000 retained)
  2. Thomson, Lassi
OTT
  1. Abruzzese, Nick
Additional Details:
The Sens were ready to trade Murray at 50% retention plus the 7th OA pick plus assets to get rid of him. The Sens easily do this
4.
TOR
  1. Strome, Dylan [RFA Rights]
CHI
Strome is not getting a QO so look at this as a UFA signing
    5.

    1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [RFA Rights]
    EDM
    1. Muzzin, Jake
    Additional Details:

This doesn’t make sense for the Ducks

If we trade Stolarz, it should be for a 2nd or so and if not just keep him — Dostal needs another year imo and Holl is just a no thanks unless we get paid to take him

It seems to have been missed along the way….

The Sens were not trading their first round pick to get rid of Murray. They were trading down 9 spots to get rid of Murray.

    Big difference.

Oilers do have a bit more cap than the Leafs, but if they plan to pay Campbell 5m, and get Kane or Giroux, that money is going to be spent fast. Instead of Muzzin, they would probably pursue Dillon 3.9mx2 who is being shopped and has a lot of interest around the league.

Yes, and I'm not convinced that we know exactly what was on the Buffalo side of that offer, too. The fact that the original report was that "Ottawa is willing to trade down from #7 to #16 but Matt Murray refused to waive his NTC" was utterly silent on what, if anything, Buffalo was going to contribute. The fact that the Las Vegas pick was mentioned doesn't mean that it was the only element on that side.

No, that trade DOESN'T make sense for Anaheim. We have internal possibilities for RD behind Drysdale and Shattenkirk; we don't have an internal replacement for Stolarz yet. And we might want to re-sign Stolarz at the end of the season, which would be virtually impossible as a practical matter if we trade him now, whereas there is NO chance that we would want to re-sign Holl, who is just a stopgap, at the end of the season.

Also the thing is Lekkerimaki and Kemell dropped to that range so maybe the scouts didn’t think there was a big difference between 7 and 16

Yeah, I think that's like a high 2nd (top 5) but another thing to consider is that they probably weren't even trying to retain 50%. No clue who Thomson is so if he's a first calibre with Abrusseze being a good B-prospect, maybe it happens but no idea why the Leafs would want to do that trade. 50% retention though doesn't make sense for OTT unless there is a 3rd team retaining at least 625k and then there comes the question how much would it cost.

To be fair, there was also a lot of “Josh Anderson and Dvorak for the first” before we saw what the actual return was for the 7OA pick.

I imagine the same will happen with the Murray to Leafs trade in f it even happens.

How? We are giving up a perfectly good backup goalie who has done an exceptional job when his name is been called for a player we have absolutely no need for

They keep telling me Ottawa was trying to include 7th to trade Murray yet forget it was only 25% retention and they were getting back 16th overall and who knows what else in the deal.

But nah the Leafs should dump holl to ottawa, get Murray at 50% retention and also a really good sweetener

I could defo see that as a possibility. Holl is a solid player but we don't need him anymore. The sens would definitely give a sweetener in there to tho

Holl makes no sense for the Ducks. Stolarz would get much more on an open market considering his great contract.

Holland has not filled his quota on washed d men who are making 5.5M so he may do this.
