Jack Campbell - I don't understand why Dubas doesn't wanna negotiate but whatever (just give him 5m x 4 already)

Darcy Kuemper - Probably too expensive, but the best goalie available.

Ilya Samsonov - A goalie we can acquire via trade (if the caps no longer want him, and wanna pursue a free agent)

Alex Nedeljkovic - Really unlikely for DET to give him up, but we could overpay for him (picks + prospects)

Matt Murray - I've never really doubted Dubas, but if he does this, he's officially lost it.

Kevin Lankinen - He's the only backup that I've listed here, but I think he can break out

Brayden Holtby - Would be nice to have him in a tandem role.

Honestly was contemplating if Dubas trades for Murray in a 3 team trade where he get him for 2.5-1.5625mill or in a trade where OTT retains 50% but sends Formenton with him im good

As before his final 2 game where it was discovered he was playing through an Injury Murray in 18 games for the Sens had a 0.915sv and this is the Sens with a Dcore that is not great.

As with a 4.5mill tandem Dubas then has space to go upgrade the forward lines

What part screams attractive to you?

With arb he was getting 3-3.5mill and in the UFA market there will be a lot of teams vying for his service in net.

Also Washington's Defense wasnt great at times and it seems whatever they were teaching him wasnt good as at times he got no help

And whats attractive is hes 25 years old and capable of playing more than 30 games. With a fresh start we could see a 40 game guy with a 0.914 sv

Now it wont be him and Kallgren as Dubas would bring in a vet backup to mentor him but if all goes well Toronto has a future starter for years to come

But in the end this is a guy I would gamble on with Reimer, Talbot, Murray backing em up

If Murray is the leafs backup or in a tandem I’ll be fine with it (and of course it should be said that he must come with at least 50% retention). If he’s the starter or comes with only 25% retention, it’s a terrible idea. Murray is Mrazek, just with a lot more potential honestly.
