I seriously doubt the Sabres will keep Peterka in Rochester just to give his roster spot to Deslauriers.

It'd be nice if it happens but all of the reports have consistently pointed to Campbell wanting long-term deal - so I wonder if a 3-year contract is realistic, given the limited supply of goalies and the demand that Campbell may get from other desperate teams like Edmonton, Washington and Toronto.

Imagine telling JJ Peterka he is going to a ride a bus in the minors because you handed nic deslauriers 5.7 million dollars

Peterka is the 1st call up this year. They are not having him play 4th line minutes. If one of top 9 get hurt etc he will be 1st One up. Deslauriers is a guy we need. We can pay Campbell. Other teams at cap can’t. Ball will be in his court is he going for $$ or long term

Imagine telling Peterka he has to play 4th line with Girg and Ok. They won’t do that to him. He starts in Roch and works way to Buf

I don’t see Sabres making many moves. I don’t see Campbell signing in Buf either. I think Adams gets Rittich Domingue or someone like that

Yea, I think Campbell will have other options to his liking. But I like the path the Sabres are on. No need to overspend or sign guys you really don't need/want. There will be more UFA next year, and few teams have cap to spend. If highly rated prospects the Sabres have pan out, Sabres should be force in the East soon.

I don't like the D-Lo signing. He's a guy that'll sign a 1 year deal for a Playoff team that needs "grit". He's not worth that money or a 3 year deal.

Campbell is still a risk to me as a full time (60+ game) starter, but it wouldn't be a bad gamble for BUF to try and sign him.

I'd rather have Peterka on the 3rd line and Asplund on the 4th line top start the season. Then play Asplund up in the lineup as injuries happen.

If JJs spot is on the 4th line, hes better off on the 1st line in the A. He still has things to work on

Cozens had such a great end to year because of Asplund. The way he works and gets to pucks and can help Cozens was huge. Granato will keep them together. They both had great showings in Worlds. Asplund has more to offer then 4th line and Sabres Management knows this.

Under Krueger, that would be true - but Granato showed over and over with all of his young players that he's not afraid to elevate them in the lineup and give them chances to learn and grow, even if it means they make mistakes early or don't produce right away. Peterka showed (as did Quinn) that they are too good for the AHL - sending them there next season will only stall their development and it sounds very much like Adams believes that too, which is all that matters.

They believe that but there are 9 above him. Whose place does he take of the top 9 forwards

I think he will play with the big club at some point but barring injury or trades he is top line with Rosen and top prospects in Roch

Eakin and Hinostroza are out, Quinn and Peterka are in. Rest will remain the same, assuming Olofsson is re-signed and no other forwards are dealt (which seems likely, given Adams/Granato's happiness with the group from last season:

Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
Cozens-Krebs-Quinn
Peterka-Mittelstadt-Olofsson
Asplund-Girgensons-Okposo

The 13th forward will be any of Bjork (if not dealt/bought out/demoted), Hayden (if re-signed) or Ruotsalainen IMO.

Not sure who will be the Amerks' top center (Malone is more of a # 2) but I'd expect Weissbach and Rousek to get 1st line minutes next season and Rosen and Murray 2nd line minutes. Putting Peterka back in Rochester not only stunts his development but limits the increased opportunities for those other 4 down the lineup

If they don’t make any moves I can see that. I see them getting a Konecny Strome Kubalik or another top 6 fwd
Don’t get me wrong I want to see Peterka play. But we need some help up front
