What would you want from the Canucks for Murphy? Hoglander + 2nd?

This is exactly what the Hawks need to do to move into full tank mode........and should have great chance at finishing last as next year's draft is going to have a few franchise players.

Trading out Jones might also be part of the plan and it would be the final straw for Toews and Kane agreeing to get moved out.

Maybe or maybe not. Regardless, every competing team wants Kane so it's just a matter of where he wants to go, but i have very little doubt he gets moved for a late 1st and struggling former top prospect or good prospect not in the NHL yet.

Bottom 3 will ensure great odds of drafting a franchise player from this next draft class.

Agree on Jones, just not sure how to move him. Hawks aren't going to retain a lot of his deal for 8 years, that almost never happens. Those 3 retention spots will be important to the Hawks over the next couple years to weaponize their cap space in effort to get picks. At some point he will get traded, but unless the Hawks pick up $2M roughly, then he's going to be hard to move, but Jones at $7.5M is a solid player for sure...the question is how long until they move him. Next season or the season after is my best guess.

I'd be really happy with either Fantilli or Bedard, the russian gives me pause since he's signed to the KHL until 2026 and who knows what happens with Russian players.

Maybe or maybe not...hard to say. Depends how the Rangers look midway through the season and also depends on how KK looks.

No, it really doesn't. Drury isn't trading Kakko for any rental.

Unless he agrees to extend at 1/4 of his market value, it's not possible. No way they can sign him.

As much as I'm sure KD would like to move the salary, I don't think it happens and I think it was a part of the reason Hawks shipped Cat (as they didn't want 2 large caps whilst they weaponise the cap space). Jones is an elite RD in this league and will still be here in 4-5 years when we potentially start to move off the bottom of the standings.

Would rather let the kids stay in Rockford and not subject them to this awful year and fill it with 1-3 year veterans we can trade away at deadlines.

He is a great player and being at his prime at 27 and a right hand defenceman there will be a team in the win now mode that will take him........but Hawks would need to take some contacts back to make the deal work.

He is going to be the trickest decision for Davidson going forward.......Alternatively the Hawks let the rebuild happen around him and do not move him out for another few years.

Only if we sign UFA's because we don't want to take anymore cap dumps as we won't have retention spots to move them. Most UFAs of value aren't going to have much interest coming to Chicago unless nobody wants them.

Matthews and Marner both idolize Kane and I think they are all friends ......so would love to see Kane play for the Leafs for atleast one year.
