We'll see what happens with Strome. If Kyle Davidson thought anouther team would make him the.....NUMBER 1 CENTERMAN... he should be able to get something for him.

He probably won't be the 1C for a while, but he would be given a chance.

Trades aside, Strome is definitely getting better offers than that.

Perhaps not. His QO is literally 3m and no team wanted him at that

With their current gm? I’m sure we’d get him for that. If anything we could probably remove one of the players. IMO.
I really hope a move like this comes real. I think Murphy is the exact stop gap we need for jiricek

Murphy would be perfect even if he wasn't a cbus boy. We don't need a high end dman like Chyc, just someone who can help mentor the young guys and be stable enough to let Z thrive offensively. I know lots of fans want peeke or boqv to start at 1RHD but I'm reallllly not a fan of doing that

Exactly this. Boqvist and peeke aren’t there yet. I think boq has the upside but I don’t see it in peeke. I see him as a high end 3rd pair shut down guy. Who can play top four in a pinch. We need a guy who can actually play top pair minutes. And Murphy would be perfect.

No. No. No no no no no. A thousand times no. Friends Don't Let Friends Acquire Stromes. The guy requires a superstar winger to be any good, but anything he contributes, Jenner or Roslovic can do better. Murphy would be a great add, but not if Strome is attached.

I gotta disagree. I'm not a big Strome fan, but even if this package were for *just* Murphy, I'd be very happy.

I think it's a significant overpayment for just him. My biggest sticking point is "Bean or the 2nd, not both", but there's other minutiae.

I think Jiricek will be ready sooner than later. If we acquire a stopgap RHD it should be on a two year deal tops. Even then, what are you accomplishing? Mediocrity while the young corps develops? Just suck it up another year and let the kids grow. They’ll be ready to compete in a year or two and then we can add what we need. The kids will need the ice time not only to grow, but for management to evaluate who is part of the future and who is not.

If it was up to that I'd keep the second but I think you're ynderselling Murphys value IMO. He is a solid top 4 RHD with 4 years of a cheap contract left. We would be lucky to not have to give up a first.

And Bean is a solid top-4 LHD who can play the right side and has almost as many years of team control left. I think he's being undersold as well.

Bean was absolutely horrible last year. What metrics are you using lol. Dude has a loooong way to go, and no he cannot effectively play rhd
