Zaitsev kinda screws you in year 2 though-Gotta re-sign Boldy, and a few other RFA's. Hard to improve the team at that point.

I considered having Ottawa retain $1m…

Sens really don't need another RD. Just don't see the fit at all, nevermind an underwhelming return. I would sooner play Addison and save the hassle. Let's not forget Peart either.

The market is flooded with RD right now, but you simply do better. See Dallas as a possible fit, but short of that, I see Dumba as a self rental barring the Wild crashing and burning this season.

I could see Dumba to OTT but the return would have to be more than this. And, like the Talbot decision, it’s probably gonna happen once the music stops and teams get desperate. If you’re gonna move contributors.

If OTT or CAR misses out on Klingberg, I’d watch out.

Peart is a talented, albeit undersized LHD…he has nothing to fo with this.
Bottom line, I don’t trust or expect Addison to develop into anything more than a 3rd pairing, protected RHD who can quarterback the Wild’s PP2. JBD is a nice compliment to him because he is a much better defender! Plus, you simply cannot have too many RHDs!

I don’t see Dumba getting much more than this…unless JBD by himself is considered more…which it probably is.

JBD and a 2nd/3rd for Dumba and no cap dump coming back is where I’d consider it. Even then I think it’s better to have Dumba in a Wild sweater. I think you’d need to get a piece back that’s gonna move the needle a slight bit, that probably means an NHL ready forward of some type. Think Zacha for Dumba (not that I’d condone that) or Jesse P + for Dumba, that’s the idea.

Jesse P would be my preferred return.
I simply don’t have a lot of faith in Addison and believe the Wild need to add to their RHD pool. I’m a big Dumba fan, but age and injuries are starting to concern me. Because of this, I would be combining the beaches to try and trade him for his (eventual) replacement…and I do not have faith that Addison is it! I certainly hope I’m wrong!!
