Dallas would probably want us to retain or take back Faksa or Khudobin to make the cap work. Also I love that title

Wow I actually really like this armchair gm idea, maybe dallas would want us to take Faksa and it wouldn't bother me just put him as a third center, put Miller back on Lw and Horvat back as 2c, or put him as the fourth c and put Dickinson on the left wing

Khudobin would be fine. At worst he is the third goalie if Martin goes down. Good to create some competition for the backup spot.

I'm thinking it's Petey's time to elevate a line without JT. Would prefer to avoid Faksa's term but you are right we probably have to take cap back and maybe Khudobin fills that.

he'd probably be a good mentor for Silovs while he's down there

Makes sense here too if DiPietro is moved.

Way to cheap for Seattle to give up Larsson. Woo and DiPietro have very little value as prospects right now. Canucks would need to give up something of value, if not Hoglander/Podkolzin, a 1st or Lekkerimaki for Larsson. And I say that as a Canucks fan 1st.

I think Dallas values their picsk too much. Use Faksa + Khudobin... Dallas does that deal to make the cap hit work.

He's not worth those players or a first IMO. But no doubt they'd probably start with that ask. A couple prospects plus two picks would have a lot of value for a team building through the draft and putting together an AHL team with only two years of picks and FAs.

Maybe they wouldn't do it given the pick but can't take back both. Dallas has room to pay Myers and 3m coming back for a goalie who won't play makes it easier. Allvin isn't Benning squinting with tongue out

Woo and DiPietro aren't worth much. Maybe a 4th rounder for the pair. Theyre both aging out and haven't done incredibly well in the AHL, or even well enough to warrant a cup of coffee. They're close to busts not worth more than a 6th or 7th individually at this point. I know other Canuck fans over value them, but in the NHL they have little value.

Larsson is a Top-4 RHD on a reasonable contract. He's worth a lot, especially to Seattle who is weaker past him on the right side. You'd have to give up the equivalent of Conor Garland for him. Would you move Garland for a 3rd, 5th, and and two 6ths?

If my team was not going to contend, wanted Connor Bedard and I had no AHL team players, possibly. The other thought was that he's only a short trip up the I5 to get to Van with a NMC. If it were slightly better with a 2nd plus those two prospects, it's not far off. But I get where you are going.

Seattle isn't looking to tank next season, their goal is the playoffs. They've already two great centers to build around in Beniers and Wright.

They aren't trying to get into the playoffs with two teenagers and Gourde down the middle! The defense is atrocious as well. They've been very patient and have more reason to now that Wright fell to them in the draft. They will sell some more. They are selling out and have people locking into season tickets for 3 season commitments this offseason. My buddy who doesn't even know hockey just locked in lol. Maybe it's worth it by year three.

"Francis said this was his most difficult NHL season of 41 spent as a player, coach and executive given COVID-19 disruptions, arena delays and other first-year struggles in getting the Kraken to finally come together. He noted the team had 16 one-goal losses plus 10 more two-goal defeats after empty netters scored with the goalie pulled.

In other words, the team might not be far from respectability.

Francis was asked about his goal for next season.

“Making the playoffs,” he said.

That certainly would reverse some of those ticket and TV declines. Even coming close might be enough.

But whatever happens, starting with this summer’s moves, the Kraken must ensure that Season 2 comes a lot closer than Season 1."

I will love it if they overpay Kadri, Gaudreau or Klingberg. Hopefully good sound bite for Kraken fans sake or team spirit.
