We aren’t getting Kane, do’t know how many more times it needs to be said

I don't even think this is enough.

Kapanen is a bottom 6 winger, Poulin is a question mark, the 2 1sts are early to late 20s.

1) Kapanen fits the idea that Hawks have SOME form of experience on the team and he'll likely be moved up to 2nd line role and may produce a little bit.
2) Poulin is still young and could grow into a nice middle 6 forward. He did a respectable job in the AHL.
3) Penguins haven't missed the playoffs in a long time so these picks are def not lottery picks but they could easily be in the mid to late teens. I can envision if Malkin isn't back and Letang maybe is injured or regresses somehow that the 2024 might be a middle of the round pick.

Idk...I think if Hawks are hellbent on trading Kane, this works.

Doubt Kane will waive for a team that isn't a contender, so any draft pick coming back from a Kane swap is going to be a late first. This honestly isn't that bad of a return for Kane considering he would really be in the driver's seat, and he could VVVVEEEERRRRYYYYY easily screw the hawks, who have been doing nothing other than trading away teammates he likes playing with.

There are quite a few teams that feel the same way it should be interesting to see where he signs.

If there are so many teams after him I'm shocked no one wanted to give the Hawks a 4th or 5th for his RFA rights.
