Description
I WOULD NOT TRADE HIM IF I WAS PHILLY.
That being said if chuck wants to keep his job going after south jersey FA winger johnny gaudreau is a fine place to start. However to accomodate his ~10m aav theyre going to have to clear plenty of cap even with ellis on LTIR. Thats what even makes this a slight possibility. Now before i get all the comments saying what an underwhelming return it is, keep in mind the market for wingers. Debrincat, fiala, reinhart and i think im forgetting one from last offseason but all those guys got 'underwhelming' returns. Its not underwhelming its just the market doesnt value them as much (and no not talking about buchnevich he was an actual steal).
Conditional 1st if the pick is after 18 it becomes the 1st, if the 1st is 18 or earlier its the 2nd.
Lou loves the '18 draft maybe just maybe this happens.

Raty and a 2nd wouldn’t be enough for Farabee anyway, that’s how off you are

Lmaoooooo. If reinhart got levi and a top 10 protected projected 20s pick this isnt crazy. Also read the desc. Its anywhere from 19-50

Farabee is worth more and Raty and a 2nd probably is around enough maybe no enough right now but I do think Raty will be better they shouldn’t move him imo

Honestly, I don't think Martin should be on the ice everyday. He did not play well this past season.
I'd much rather Parise be on the 4th line, with Beau on the 3rd with Pageau and Bellows. I think Bellows has a lot to prove this upcoming season

No reason to move Farabee, and if we did it would be for a lot more

Philly doesn’t even consider

Farabee is young, only a year older than the prospect you offered, Farabee’s potential is very high. 60-80 point guy in the next year or so, and his contract is fantastic.

He probably has the most value on the team, possibly not as much as Hart but that’s arguable

Also, Fiala and Reinhart were both RFA's so they shouldn't really be compared to Farabee. He is on an awesome contract for a long time and I can say with pretty much confidence that apart from Hart he's probably the last guy they'd move trying to make cap room for Gaudreau.

Lets hold off on the 80 point predictions, he was on pace for 44 over 82 games this season. Fiala got 19oa and faber, he scored 85 points in 82 games this year. Reinhart got levi who was 1 year removed from being a 7th round pick and a top 10 protected projected 20s pick. He was on pace for 60 over 82 games in the year before his trade plus he can play C. And we havent even gotten to the debrincat and buchnevich deals.

Well blake talked to fiala about a contract before the trade. But either way im just basing my value off of recent comps if you have your own comps id seriously love to hear them. These are the only guys i could think of in the last 2 offseasons.

Yeah but lets face it he probably will. And parise will be playing top 9 like it or not. Im trying to be realistic here. I also wouldnt be surprised if we had a ross/martin rotation.

He probably won't be a 80 point guy next year but he has potential to be one. Wild had no other choice than trade Fiala cause thay had no cap space for him. Reinhart was 25 when he was traded and had pretty much reached his potential atleast with the Sabres. Also the Sabres had no right to be trying to trade him as a 80 point guy when he was on pace for 60. The Panthers scored the most goals last season so Reinhart's points were definitely inflated by that. Say what you want but no GM in the world is trading a 22 year old with 60-80 point potential on a great contract for 2nd and a B prospect.

I didnt count reinharts season with the panthers i said his last season before the trade meaning 20-21 when he was with buffalo.
Like i wrote before to someone else i am just going off the only comps i could think of. If you have any other comps id love to hear them.
Its also anywhere from 19-50. Calling it a 2nd rounder is misleading. And since the 2 worst playoff teams will probably both be from the west it really comes down to whether you think this team makes the playoffs. If you think it does (which i do) youre talking about a 1st and a b prospect. I dont think thats crazy.

The potential is there, the contract is the main thing that separates him from the pact. Even at his current pace his value is still better than this. Kings paid a team that was handicapped and they traded for him with the 7.8 M contract in mind…

Philly has no need to move Farabee, so you’re buying something we are not selling.

I disagree with your 1st assertion but youre correct in the sense that i didnt factor the comps correctly. I didnt really account for age as much as i should have. The contract rn is good but ill have to wait and see him become a legit 65 point 1st line winger before its really great.
