-I think Ottawa takes this gladly, even if they don't really have a spot for him it's really undervaluing a solid player on a relatively affordable deal.
-Another sell low on Grz, I get that he's an undersized D but I feel like teams will pay strong for an LD2 with some term on a sub-$4M deal.
-The Mike Reilly market is panicking with the Romanov trade! If Lou feels like Salo isn't ready yet I think he would jump all over this deal. Worst case he's quality depth for this season and you flip him out when he's an expiring deal next summer to a team that pays up for him.
-Feels like you're selling low on Haula with that deal - he'd be a solid 2/3C on a lot of teams and getting back a 3rd goalie and a 6th rounder for him feels light.
-I don't think Boston has the horses to get Laine. He's a stud goal scorer, which is why he's got such high demand around him, and this package isn't really living up to it. Carlo is a solid piece but he's a defensive D so the value has a ceiling. Nosek adds no value to the deal as a bottom 6 guy getting paid $1.75M, and John Beecher hasn't shown enough to justify that 1st round pedigree. The 2024 1st/2nd gives a bump in value but I think that Jarmo passes on this without a premier prospect like Lysell being included.
-I don't hate the framework being provided here but I have to say I feel like this trade runs counter to a lot of your other moves. Sending out Grz/Reilly/Smith/Haula for picks feels like a teardown but trading Ullmark for Talbot/Dumba is a "win now" kind of move. I think Minnesota passes on this deal though - they don't have a ton of spots to fill after MAF signed and it'll probably be easier to flip out Dmitry Kulikov's expiring $2.25M to get the space to fill out the bottom of their roster at this point.
About your signings - I love the idea of PK Subban joining Boston because lolwhynot; and that Nick Leddy signing is woooof. I'd rather have Grz at $3.8675M, even if he misses the start of the season, than Leddy at $4M for LD2.
