Dubas keeps on losing when a trade isn't even related to the Leafs, he really chose Matt Murray over Cam Talbot

Sens win. They upgrade in net and give up a meh prospect (might come back to haunt me).

Ottawa will compete for a playoff spot this year.

Incase you forgot, the Leafs literally had to give up nothing for a two time Stanley Cup champ. Sens gave up a young, promising goalie for Talbot

I think it’s a fair deal. Talbot wouldn’t have been my personal target for OTT, but they have some proven insurance now in case Forsberg falls off. And Minny gets a young goalie in return who has been inconsistent but shown potential.

Three years ago, Talbot was traded for Anthony Stolarz, a goalie prospect in his mid-20s who sort of lost his way.

At the time, Talbot was a veteran 1A/1B goalie who had 1 year left on his contract.

This swap is not without precedent.

Fair deal.

Gustavsson is like saying the Leafs gave up Woll for Talbot, Dubas is paying $4M for an AHL goalie

Incase you forgot, Matt Murray makes 4.7M for the next two years and has a .899 SV% and 3.10 GAA in the past 3 years

Here's a quote from Bill Guerin just four days ago, the day after re-signing Marc-Andre Fleury: "I don’t have sh*t to do. Cam Talbot’s under contract. George (Talbot's agent) can say whatever the hell he wants. My team’s set right now, and that’s the way it goes. So we can have all the discussions we want. Cam’s a member of our team. We really like Cam. All we’re trying to do is win. All we’re trying to do is have good, strong goaltending, and I think we have that."

Ottawa could've signed a good goalie if they wanted a veteran. Instead they traded a promising prospect for an inconsistent backup
