If you were wondering how tight our cap space is, the Kings wouldn’t be able to sign Sandin after this trade.

Leaf fans please note this in your inevitable Muzzin to LA trades over the next few 12 hours.

Actual question, does Sandin for Iafallo make more sense? Some of my other ones had muzzin for iaffalo but you’re right the cap doesn’t work. Iafallo seems like a logical move if they can get a dman but from my other interactions with kings fans, I think I’m wrong.

I’ve thought about this a ton. With Edler, Walker, Bjornfot, and Moverare available at LD2-3, I think the Kings are done unless a big trade for an established LD shows up (Chychrun or Philly LDs).

On the other side, Iafallo helps round out the PK, protects Byfield, and is our biggest insurance piece for Kopitar. Kopitar hasn’t played great with Arvidsson, so if Arvidsson and Fiala play better with Danault, Moore moves to Byfields line and Iafallo goes to the top line with Kopi and Kempe.

I think from the leafs point of view, Muzzin has an easier to move contract next season with a list of teams he doesn’t want to be traded to, and you can really try Sandin in LD2 this season.

No from Columbus. Holl's a guy we'd consider giving up a 6th or a 5th for. Bemstrom's worth quite a bit more than that.
