Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 11, 2022
Published: Jul. 12, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
assuming the devils get gaudreau, the fight to get back into the playoffs will be ROUGH. instead of that, we take advantage of this allegedly generational draft, sell off some guys with value while keeping our key players, take some bets on young talent and hopefully get a decently high pick in next year's draft, letting us bring in a new crop of prospects so the team can really compete again maybe in 2025-26.

in this example beau would be traded at the deadline assuming he rebounds also

if people paid that much for the likes of ben chiarot, josh manson, david savard, they’d better. mayfield’s better and cheaper than chiarot was plus plays a more valuable position

Minnesota declines. They aren't taking on any long term contracts and aren't going to trade their 1st round picks.

The Wild are in cap hell for the next 3 years. Adding $3.75 million in net cap this year and $6 million for the next 2 is not going to happen. The buyout cap hits get worse after this season so that makes it ever harder to afford a $6 million contract next year.

We just freed up enough money to barely call up Rossi and add a depth forward while staying under the cap. This trade would make that impossible and eat up all the cap space we have. Not gonna happen.
