I'd be very disappointed with the off-season if this js how we lined up.

Be fighting Detroit for 9th 10th again.

They've come pretty close so far lol Granted, Comrie is way better than lindgren. But then, Subban is way better than Lyubushkin

Mmm maybe on subban but I would argue Lyubushkin is a better fit.

everyone likes his defense, but it only looks good cause hes allergic to going past the red line. He's like the anti-kane. Fine for a club looking for a specialist, but this is clearly one of those "we need a righty and nobody good who doesn't have a NTC is available" kinda deals. Im fairly confident they'll move this contract in a year.

Possible, but if you pair him with Power who plays above his forwards might not be bad to have a safety protecting the back

But then you're effectively playing 4 v 5 hockey. its something of a myth that an offensive guy needs a shut down guy as his partner. In reality, you want both d-men to instinctually think the game the same way, allowing them to anticipate where each will be so they know where to go next. Like Devon Toews may be defensively responsible, but he's also just as much an offensive puck possession/carrying fiend as Makar is. Thats why they work so well. They didn't do Makar the disservice of giving him an anchor who hits well. Otherwise, what's the point?

Edit: That's also why in a limited sample, Power and Stecher looked good together.
