I’d love to see the Florida trade happen. Just not sure hornqvist waives for Winnipeg, but with him being flipped maybe, and I have a feeling jets have high expectations for Heinola this year.

I feel like Dillon is likely the odd man out, which I don’t like because jets need players like Dillon. I like the mikheyev add and the strome add. I’d rather just use their money towards a player like burakovsky though.

I don't think that Weegar trade is close to what Florida would be looking for. They would want futures and ELC contracts so they can resign Hubby

Heinola is an ELC, and Wheeler is much better than Hornqvist and it would only be 950k increase in cap hit by doing so with the $2M retention by swapping those players. Maybe the Jets add a pick if Weegar has an extension in place with Winnipeg. But i really dont think this is that far off. Florida actually gains $2.1M in cap space in this deal.

It would be great getting a second back on Dillon, but i don't see it from Seattle. They love their picks and next year's draft is DEEP! They have LD aplenty.

Agree on all points, just think Weegar is good enough to aim to get pure futures for and have the complete cap hit come off.

That could be completely true. Just think Panthers are in the "Win, here and now" and taking futures wouldn't be their focus. That said Weegar is a win now piece too. But honestly who knows at this point lol
