Yeah the Rangers wouldn't pay half of that to be honest. I would love to see it work out somehow though

Best case scenario Kane returns a 1st and prospect from a contender.

        More realistically 2024 1st 2023 2nd. Or 2023 2nd and a prospect.

His trade return will be limited by (a) his salary, (b) his NMC which will allow him to choose where to go, and (c) his term as rental.

Chicago will probably get one good pick/prospect and 2-3 lesser pieces.

Just reported, Kane is not getting traded in the offseason. He may in-season once his cap hit is prorated down but he wants to stay in Chicago for now.

And so, the dream of a Gaudreau - Hughes - Kane line dies

Our hope is apparently at least 3 years out and more likely 5

He's the only reason to watch the Hawks right now, a small light in a very dark hole next season

Look at bright side. They pulled the band-aid / Took their medicine. A lot of teams are stuck in between and the most successful ones are those that are able to strip it down, rebuild anew.

You seriously have a better chance of seeing Jack Eichel traded back to Buffalo and the Sabres trading Alex Tuch to Toronto with (50% retention), and DeShaun Watson starting week one for the Browns than you do the Sabres trading Devon Levi for a rental. Zero chance he's included.
