Just my thoughts but:
-Philly is on the record as saying they aren't paying to move JVR (For better or worse...)
-It still blows my mind that Weegar is bouncing around the rumor mill...guy is a super cheap option for this season, and the Panthers should be trying to keep him (for at least this year). Who knows.
-"Meh".
-Not even close.
-Can't see San Jose moving him until the deadline. Probably should (I'd imagine it'd be a 2nd, but whatever), but I think Hill is the guy that gets moved (Which wouldn't be a bad option for you guys!)

Love those takes. 100% accurate when it came to Fiala or DeBrincat.

Yes because it hasn't already been widely reported that 2nd OA+ was offered for Tkachuk or anything. Not to mention They aren't trading his RFA rights prior to qualifying him.

That was when Flames hoped for Johny Hockey to stay.

How does that change anything? Tkachuk is still elite

Flames are not elite anymore. They may reconsider everything. There is a difference having 2x100pts players than one. One puts you right in the middle of the pack - not good enough to win, not bad enough to have chances at Bedard.

I love this pipe dream.

I'm thinking the same thing on the Philly trade.

Wait hold on? Having 100 point player makes you "not good enough" to win? Ok so Colorado with zero 100 point players just accidentally won vs Tampa with 1 100 point player? That's one hell of a take

You are just catching single words and making this as whole statement rebutal.
The Calgary Flames do not have roster depth on same level as Avs or Tbl. The first line of players with 100+ points made them top team in the west. Now one of those guys is gone, he cant be replaced.
Is Tkachuk good - yes ? Will he be as good as he was with Gaudreau on the same line - I doubt that. Can Tkachuk commit full 8 years to team, that is most likely going to be stuck in the middle ? We will see, but I am not sure. Worst case scenario for Flames would be Tkachuk taking his QO, and reevalute his future next offseason.
