Teams cannot begin the season with more than $8.5 million on LTIR. Just remove Backstrom from LTIR and its good.

Kuemper at 5x5.5 gives me heartburn, not going to lie. I think the Caps should not give him more than 4 years, especially if the cap hit is north of 5.

Also think goalie backup will be Fucale, cheaper, younger and better than Copley.

But 5.5 is still high, he's 32 and really wasn't very good in the playoffs. -4.3 GSAA, .902 SV%.

Yea he was very good in the regular season though and there aren't any better options imo
