I would trade Pettersson for nothing at this point or even add picks to it. We need to dump him somehow.

You guys are getting closer on the Miller trade. Much better than 2024 1rst, Kap and Marino tears of joy

honestly i'd prefer signing a 3C like Strome and moving Carter to that RW spot. if not, Sonny Milano would be a good pickup instead of EROD, but i like either.

also i may be in the minority here, but the JT Miller trade is not worth it. i don't think the Pens can afford his extension next season (~$8M) and it doesn't make sense to spend that much capital on a 1-year rental

Thank god you’re not GM lol. Pettersson easily gets at least a 4th. More likely a 3rd. If the pens had to pay to dump him, they’d have done it by now. There is interest there and will likely get the most for him.

Had Milano in there, but wasn't sure if he would fit alongside Zucker and Carter. Don't mind the idea of a new 3C, but Strome is probably out of the price range. And as for the Miller deal, the pens would have Zucker and Dumo coming off the books to make room for his extension and to resign Jarry as your two main priorities in the next offseason.

Lmao I hope your right but there's many reports no one wants him. Would rather trade him plus a pick than not dump his salary and run it with the bottom 6 we have. Were an hour and a half away and he hasn't been traded yet

Finally! Someone with a brain and common sense regarding Miller. People need to accept the fact that Miller isn’t coming to Pitt. Unless the cap goes up 3+ mil, which obviously it won’t, pens can’t afford Miller and his 8.5+ million dollar extension next season

Strome will probably get around $4M so they can feasibly fit him in (of course another team may overpay).

also i thought Zucker had 2 years left lol but i'm still hesitant to spend >$8M on a 29 year old coming off of his best season -- i'd rather have flexibility going into next offseason

They can easily sign Miller with Zucker coming off the books. EDIT: Sorry I realized this has been addressed and don't know how to delete my comment lol

Yes they can lol. Cap increase, plus JJ buyout, plus Zucker is like 8.5mil in free space

No they can’t lol. Cap increase isn’t guaranteed, JJ’s buyout only goes down a mil, and Zuck is 5.5. That’s 6.5. Maybe 7.5 if cap goes up. Still not 8.5. Miller could even get 9 mil if he has another great season. You think Dumos replacement plays for free? Like I said, no plausible

Brother - they don't need 8.5 lol. Work with me here, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

You also have the 4 mil when Miller's deal expires, plus 2.2 from Bluegers deal. Zucker and Blueger can be replaced by cheap youth (Poulin, Nylander, etc). Hoping POJ has a good year, you can move him into the top 4 and find a 3LD. If you click on the long-term outlook tab, the pens would have 24 million in cap space next offseason (not including any cap increase) with about 13-14 going to Miller and Jarry, leaving 10 to replace Zucker, Dumo and Blueger. Doesn't seem too far fetched to me...

Brother-it isn’t happening. You also aren’t accounting for Jarrys and Bluegers new deals. Money just doesn’t work. Move on

No he doesn’t 😂 and no it’s not close. Not to mention Milano is more consistent. ERod was carried by a lucky first half.

Yes it does. Stop saying the money doesn't work when you don't even understand how to calculate the money. You thought we needed to free up 8.5 to sign Miller. Just take the L

How are you arguing with factual information? And you've given nothing to prove your argument. Just repeating it's not close like an idiotic parrot

It wasn't lucky, he just played in the top 6
