Interesting. Don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. Someone sees something in the kid. Hope it pans out.

Interesting to see a 4th round pick get signed this quickly, but on the other hand his numbers have been very impressive for a young goalie for the past 2 years so it's not like it's unreasonable.

I really don't understand this ELC. Hildeby has 2 years left on his SHL contract, and this ELC is not slide eligible. Very strange

Zayde Wisdom got signed hella fast a couple years back, but that was mostly Philly doing him a solid, because he and his family could really use that 92.5k signing bonus, which was a nice story. This guy’s nearly 21 though and there’s no signing bonus, so this is clearly just to get him into the AHL/ECHL (probably ECHL)

That is a good story but it still weird to sign Hildeby this soon. If it was like early August, sure fair enough but on the first day of free agency seems odd.

I guess Dubas knew he’d be in their plans and doesn’t want to worry about getting it done later lol, the entire NHL takes August off usually

First 2022 pick to sign an NHL contract?

According to some scouting reports he is not far off from potentially pushing for an NHL job as a backup (Athletics article mentioned 1.5-2 years)

But how in the **** is he gonna get one with 9 goalies in our system

As he did look good in his few SHL games and like Kallgren I dont see the harm
