Solid backup option for the Leafs. They've gotten 2 1B options so hopefully one can stay hot when the other it cold.

Term is perfect, he's still an RFA after this year.

Cheap but once again doesn't solve anything cause if he's good they won't be able to re-sign him to a contract north of 4M.

Have to give Dubas credit. The Murray deal makes a lot more sense now with this context. Still not great but I actually dont mind this tandem if Samsonov can find his game, if Murray can as well then they're in business.

has the talent to be a true #1...so a great pickup at this price.
Not sure if toronto is the place for him to get his career back on track though.

Big upside and also big risk. Good contract tho.

Dubas’ job is in the hands of a “confusing” young starter and a major project/ gamble.

Three questions for Toronto

1. Who’s starting Samsonov or Murray? (neither of them are exactly good options)
2. What do you see in Samsonov that I don’t?
3. How much time does Samsonov have left in the league (not much in my opinion if he doesn’t improve drastically)

Getting Samsonov at 1.8m.....well it shows what a horrendous contract it for Murray at 4.7m,

Hey, I wish for the Leafs and Murray's sake, Murray can play to his contract. But I see Murray (and Dubas) being booed mercilessly if Murray falters.

Why bring in ONE goalie who didn't meet expectations when you can get TWO!

Last season was the only down year for Samsonov, and even at that he wasn't that bad, But for 4.7m and 1.8m for Murray and Sammy, shouldn't Leafs just signed Campbell for 5m and some else?
