I loved him in Carolina especially late in the season. He's such a warrior and he'll do anything to stick up for his team. A well deserved pay check. Imma miss him

I like this signing for New Jersey. Smith played alright in the 45 games he played this past season with the Hurricanes notching 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points. Smith was born early February 1989 and was drafted in 2007 which means he is 33 years old. Smith will probably on the last defence paring this upcoming season. He could play 40-50-60 games and can give you around 10-15 points for $1,100,000. Smith will be a solid bottom paring defensemen for New Jersey. Good signing.
