Don't really like this signing for Detroit, but it's only 1 year and they have all of the cap space in the world.

Olli did everything asked of him here in Los Angeles and played as well as we expected. I'm glad he found a home quickly.

good deal. 1yr term means if he doesnt look like a fit he could be trade deadline material.

Perfect signing for Detroit. They require depth at LD and the term is only one year so the AAV is not a concern. Excellent defense and penalty killing.

We've got a full roster once we re-sign Mikey Anderson and Sean Durzi. We're further ahead at setting our 2022-2023 team than anyone else. We could start training camp tomorrow.

Mikey needs to go to Ontario and we need to get rid of Walker.

This signing isn’t the worst for Detroit. Maatta played alright in the 68 games he played this past season with the Kings notching 1 goal and 7 assists for 8 points. Maatta was born late August 1994 and was drafted in 2012 which means he is only 27 years of age. Maatta will probably play on the second defence pair with Hronek or Sieder this upcoming season. He could play 50-60-70 and can give you around 5-10-15 points for $2,250,000. Maatta is a solid 2nd paring defensemen for Detroit I think it’s a little too much money for Detroit and if it was $2,000,000 but since it’s only a $250,000 difference and it’s only a 1 year deal it’s fine. Good signing
