More than he's worth. You can get the same caliber defensemen for near league minimum.

Your paying for development for Power. Completely fine with this, wouldn't have even cared if it was 3m.

Eh, think he was worth a $2M deal, can't fault Buffalo for a slight overpay when they've got the cap space. Stick him with Power and you've got a pretty solid Top 4

Don't get me wrong I loved him in TO but that's a huge overpay.

BOOSH

I'll miss him. Fair deal for Sabres that need to reach floor.

this would be bad for almost any other team, but makes sense for buffalo with no risk as they shoot for cap floor

Please stop riping your shirt over an "overpay".

An extra 500k for 2 seasons is nothing to scream about. Call it the Buffalo tax.

Good signing for Buffalo. Defense stability is their priority. Now get a respectable goalie.

Too much for someone who looked best on the third pairing but dudes like him usually don't get major paydays so good on you, Lyub.

i wanted this guy in Columbus very badly. Pairing Lyu with Gavrikov would have worked very well IMO, but i guess it wasn't meant to be.

CapFriendly crowd really hates context huh? Every AGM with Buffalo has been "tHeY SHouLd tAke ouR TraSh becAUse CaP FLoOr!" and then when we make a slight overpay to get a RHD on a short-term deal, they all screech like brainless monkeys.

Good deal, minimal risk, Power gets his defensive guy to play next to.

Overpriced, but not terrible. That said, you win in this league by avoiding overpaying people.

Lol all these people voting no clearly don't look at the context. If this was a contract signed to a contending team with limited cap space, then yes that would be a poor contract as its an overpay. But Buffalo has nothing but money for the next 2 seasons, so bringing in a reliable, physical RHD to play with Power is worth as much as it would cost. There is literally no risk in this deal and only reward
