I liked him as a PK in Toronto, but hes being paid a lot for that.
The extra speed was needed in Van, but not sure the nucks needed another winger. (wouldve preferred the Manson deal- by a lot).
Chiasson might be the odd man out.
might mean a move for Pearson,Hoglander or Garland.
It might be an early replacement for Miller (ie- his contract means they cant resign him or take on an established/expensive contract).

I'm voting no but if he can take a little bit of a step it could work out pretty good. He does add speed which the Canucks sorely need

He was already better in the second half of the season, so I think he has already taken that step to be a 30-goal scorer.

THEY JUST GOT OUT OF CAP HELL AND THEY DO THIS?!?!

LOU ERIKSSON 2.0 (at least he had a 30G season)

He was on pace for 30 goals last season.

Remember, Myers' last year of his contract is $1 million salary, $5 million signing bonus. They will be able to move that contract to anyone who is tanking and get an asset back. They will have room.

True...but if Myers goes- they need to replace him. they dont have a RHD prospect and Poolmans health is questionable. Even with Myers being paid too much...he played a lot- they need a top 4 to replace him.
Not sure if theyre in on Klingberg...but if they are- hopefully its less than what theyre paying Myers or Larsson.

I love soup. I really want him to do well. He's an infectiously happy guy. He had a good rookie season than a terrible injury when he was all alone in a foreign country fearing for his hand. Apparently Dubas spent the night in hospital with him. I really hope this pans out because I like the guy.

But I think it's a bad deal.

The only way it may work out is if you basically ignore the playoffs after his injury and his second year as assuming he was getting his hand control back post injury/recovery.

Then you have 30 goals and 55 points in 92 games

Or about 27/50 in 82.

He's a speed demon. He'll drive you nuts as hell get a million breakaways but only convert on a few.

I also don't see the fit in Vancouver as they have enough middle 6 w. Either way best of luck soupy

(If you don't know the soup story ask, it's hilarious and endearing)

Nah, Mikheyev is better than Pearson, not to mention WAY faster. Pearson isn't even overpaid for what he makes. As for Mikheyev, we'll see

Canucks likely aren't done making moves after making a signing like this

He was on pace to hit 30 goals last year and was getting better as the year went on. a 30-goal scorer isn't low reward.

When he scores 30G I will apologize haha. He scored 15G in the past 2 seasons combined. I think he's good for 15-20 with VAN.

Won't be surprised if he scores 30 goals. But it certainly won't happen in the playoffs. But it may not be a concern for the Canucks yet

I would be extremely surprised if he scored 30 goals...

2 years ago I vouched for this guy and said to all the doubters watch him rebound after recovering from that skate laceration to his wrist that saw him be terrible in the Canadian division.

And despite breaking his thumb he came back late this year and scored 21 goals in 56 games and was a beast

Gonna miss him but I will say thats a bit to much

He’s a good player for the bottom six but $4,750,000? No way. Would’ve liked it if it was $3,200,000 or $3,000,000.
