Fair value. Good depth Pittsburgh needs if they want any fighting chance in the Metro this year.

I think PIT has another deep run left in the tank.

SMH. They already have a logjam of D-Men. There has got to be a trade in the works.

That puts them at 9 d men that would need to go through waivers? If there is no trade coming soon this is bad but if so it is not too bad, maybe even 2 dman moving on?

Anyone who laughs at Arizona for the Nemeth trade cannot possibly call this a smart move. It's the same movie, just one year behind.

Not the worst contract, but I don't get it?? What about giving P.O. Joseph a chance?

Joseph is a LD, this has no effect on his deployment.

A little pricey for a third pairing, right?

I like this alot. He's a solid dman. Assuming this means Pettersson is gone I hope. Please keep Marino. Marino will bounce back.

Good for Rutta.

Hedman's possession numbers were better with Rutta than Sergachev, so give the guy a chance Pens fans. He'll be a solid guy who can play with pretty much anyone on defense.

I have no idea why most here didn't like it. As a Pens fan, there's NOTHING to complain about this contract. The AAV is good and the term either. If he plays like he was playing in Tampa, this sign will be great for us.

I don't think so. Probably Pettersson will be traded. We don't need him anymore. We need a middle-6 winger.

Maybe but with all the injuries penguins seem to go through year after year I feel keeping everyone is just necessary lul

As what if we trade him then next season Dumo and Matheson get hurt
