What a terrible trade for the Sharks. Canes must have some dirt on Grier.

this may not be a good value for a team that should rebuild, but its still better than refusing to rebuild

Mike Grier is certainly one of the GMs of all time. What a rickety start to his career as GM

Would've been a fair trade if Sharks didn't retain, but yikes. Carolina got a good one.

Canes win he deal but the Sharks finally have legit cap and a bit of breathing room for the first time in YEARS. Though my team lost the trade, I am breathing a bit better now.

Burns played the most last year at 37 y/o & still produce offensively like crazy

And SJ agreed to give him to CAR basically for free

Superb replacement to DeAngelo for CAR IMO

Umm, Grier?

Trade 11 for 3 picks, giving up the chance for a higher talent guy/armstronged
Let’s go of Meloche, Dahlen
Now this

I’m a tad confused but okay

We should have gotten a 2nd round pick at the least for the retention, but this trade had to be done given the Sharks' cap situation. Take care of him Canes, you got a hell of a wookie on your team.

I dont know much of what they did but trading back from 11 and grabbing Bystedt at 27 was a move I was not a fan of at all. I did like the Havelid pick though

I love this trade for us, I really wish we got more retained out of him but it's alright. We needed a top pairing offensive Dmen and we got one. Imma miss Lorentz, (he's not good lol) but he's a funny guy. I hope SJ fans enjoy him. I don't mind giving up Eetu too, just no where for him to work out. I do wonder what that 3rd conditional is though, hopefully it's not much. (I'll have to edit this later)

Getting rid of an offensive dman just to get another offensive dman (x2).

Let’s see if next year will be (x3).

Sad to see Burnsie go but with Vlasic/Karlsson eating up ~$18m AAV, we could either wait until the heat death of the universe or move a 37 yr old who may or may not be awesome in future seasons. At least this makes re-signing Meier easier.

Hope you win one with the Canes, Burnsie

You can't judge the pick until we see how Bystedt turns out. We already know that Doug Wilson Jr penchant for finding gems, so who knows. Havelid was a huge steal, of course, and Cam Lund looks pretty good. It was a massive improvement from the past Sharks' drafts, where the picks were lacking

Burns at $8 million is awful.
Burns at $5.4 million is doable.

Getting him without losing any real pieces is great.

Hey wait a second, if the Canes are dealing Makiniemi, they must really believe in Kochetkov to be their goalie of the future
