So basically we should just consider the gudbranson contract as part of the Gaudreau contract right? Everyone happy with that explanation? because it's the only one I have for why he turned down the 7@12 from cbj just to sign there anyway

Still cannot fathom what he is thinking. CBJ are still 2+ years out. This is baffling.

He couldve been a great fit in NJ, not sure how this fits in Columbus, but regardless of where he signed....this is a boatload of cash, I dont think the deal ages well at all. but its columbus...so who cares?

Contract ends when he's 35 and he's not an overly physical player so the deal should age well. He's well worth it now and I don't think he'll be too overpaid in the later years. I voted good deal.
