Description
Think this pretty much wraps up their off season. Essentially just waiting on Bergy and Krejci decisions. Sweeney today basically said they're done in free agency for now. And that he doesnt see any trades coming to fruition but he's had talks about trades. Tbh I didnt expect the Haula-Zacha swap. The trades fine. Doesnt really move the needle, basically just getting a younger version of Haula which is fine. They're gonna have to dump some cap to get Bergy, Krejci and Zacha signed. I went with Nosek and Wags here. Just don't know what else they can really do. Overall the lineup looks fine. I just still dont see them as a contending team at the end of the day. Obviously its basically the "best" they can do without turning over a couple of roster pieces so I get it but just the frustration of having guys like Folingo at $3.8M, Reilly/Forbort taking up another $3M. And when fully healthy we'll likely have $6.8M sitting up in the press box on level 9 on a daily basis. Maybe they dump some more cap but I doubt it. Sweeney likes the internal competition too much. Maybe they've dumbed down the talent enough internally that Studnicka finally makes his full time gig in the NHL. Probably still a playoff team but thats about it at best imo. Prove me wrong Bruins, please prove me wrong.

I learned it from the movie Moneyball. The Athletics were so broke they couldn't afford to fill their machines for their players so Billy Bean got an opposing GM to fill the machines for like 3 seasons lol. Class act move by Billy Bean, true players GM
