Description
Like, what? These moves are rough. I don’t mind the players they signed so much as the aav. What was the point of moving on from Burns if you just give that money to Nico Sturm and Michael Benning? And why give Sturm 3 years and Benning 4? That’s just bad. They trading away/bought out/failed to qualify close to 100 points in 3 players. They brought in half of that.

They could have got Colin Miller for $2 mil per, couldn’t sign Vatrano or Marchment.

I don’t see them signing Strome although I would like them to add some sort of shred of offense.

If Grier fails to move one of the three goaltenders, that would be a massive loss. A colossally horrendous week for San Jose.

To be fair, I’ve been in on the rebuild and changing the roster. The wrong pieces are just being moved. Move on from DW jr who had some of the best drafts in a long time and decided to keep Tim Burke who has been around since the beginning of time. Adding just grit and size to the roster and moving back in time in hockey isn’t going to help this organization. The nhl is evolving to being faster and more skilled and San Jose seems to be going backwards. It is early in griers tenure, and I’ve been cautiously optimistic, but this is looking rough thus far.

Edmonton won't be trading for a goalie until something falters as Skinner lost his exemption so will be the backup/1B to start the season.

The Burns trade doesn't look very good imo, pretty sure that's the biggest retention in history that's longer than one season.
Unless that prospect is something special you got a 3rd for that cap space which hardly seems like enough.

I really didn't think the trading back in the draft was a good move either.

I liked Grier as a player but so far as a GM his moves look questionable at best.

That trade scenario has passed but Edmonton could use Gadjovich.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m not sure there’s a single move which I would call a genuine W.

Sharks are replacing good prospects and/or already good players for rando depth players who are getting ridiculous term and AAV. Lindblom is the only one I was remotely ok with but at the end of they day, they basically swapped Balcers for a more expensive version of himself.

And this fu6king dummy is forcing all our young players out of the lineup with these signings.

Totally baffling stuff.
