Idea with the trade is that Avs cant resign Kadri and need a new 2C, and with the Manson signing Girard falls out of their top 4. Florida has a very stacked center with Barkov and Reinhart who are both capable of being top 6 centers, and I could definitely see Lundell being ready to take on the 2C role too, if it doesnt work out he can stay as the 3C and Reinhart can be the 2C. Florida does need a LHD who they can pair with Ekblad though. Both players are still young and have term, although I can see why Girard would be more expensive so picks can be involved to balance the trade out.

They can get Kadri if they trade him to Ott or Ana and now have 8 mil in cap space. why is levtchi on the first line

Levtchi is a pure top 6 scoring forward who Barkov personally scouted from Tappara to Florida. Having him in any other role wont work out, so give him a shot on the line with Barkov at the start of the season. If it doesnt work out give Denisenko or another prospect the chance on the first line until Duclair comes back. Also while thats possible for Kadri, do they want to keep him at 31 years old if he wants a 6+ mil deal with term? Wouldnt a cheaper and younger player who plays a similar game be smarter considering the extensions they have to give in the future?
