Where does Dallas find the cap?

And why would they trade one of their best prospects for Petry?

It’s a horrible idea for them all around.

You aren’t getting Maverick Borque or any top prospect for Petry. Petry only gets moved if it’s a Brent Burns style deal.

Yeah.... Dallas isn't trading any prospects or picks for Petry. Their cap situation would require Montreal take a contract or two plus retaining some salary. I doubt Dallas makes any more moves on Defense.

You can’t Seth Jarvis for Josh Anderson. That’s beyond insane. You can’t get a positive return for Byron and Colorado won’t trade for Allen. Dvorak trade may be bad for Montreal but everything else is so one sided.

I was shocked and horrified that someone would even suggest it

That Ingram for Dvorak trade might be interesting. No idea if either team would even be interested though.
But I think the price that the Habs are asking for Anderson will be too high to make a trade viable. No way do the Canes send Jarvis and Suzuki your way for him.

Avs decline; their goaltending is set. Also, hasn't Hughes said that Allen isn't available?

I’d really like to know the thought process in that COL trade? Allen is the poster child for league average goalie. How does that translate into 1 yr being worth that package? Why would COL who traded for Georgiev, signed JoJo, have Francouz and Annunen be even remotely interested in him? Is it like some retroactive Quebec jealousy?
