If anyone falls out of a playoff spot in the east I’d say it’s Boston or Pittsburgh. The Caps have done some nice business to keep themselves competitive.

Detroit declines. No room for Eller after signing Copp, Perron and Kubalik. Boston and Pittsburgh are both better than the Caps are.

Play him as a 4th centre. Trade him at the deadline.

I don't hate this deal for Detroit just no roster space for him. Could probably easily flip him for more assets at the deadline but just doesn't work for us right now.

Erne isn’t any good so bury him. Keep Smith in the minors too. A 4th line of Rasmussen-Eller-Sundqvist is better than have Erne or Smith on it

I agree but adding Eller sidelines veleno also which is the problem never mind berggren in GR who's NHL ready.

You want to start the season with him? I’d rather see him worked in throughout the year and once guys like Eller and Suter are moved at the deadline, let him play the rest of the season
