If Calgary poaches Horvat, I’m throwing fists. No way this management lets Horvat go

I agree but my concern is they may prioritize Miller signing him to this big extension then going **** we need to extend Horvat. And with 12mill in new cap CGY just swoops in and goes hey want this x 7 years

yeah but like patches and maybe tank are the only ones that might reach free agency. idk it seems dangerous to bank on one of them coming to calgary unless we can get tkachuk locked up long term

I feel hes gonna sign 9.25 x 8 soon

Got a feeling the GM is exploring all options before proceeding.

No Horvat is more important to Vancouver than Miller. Management has stated they want to keep Miller, but that is most likely just drive his trade value up by making it look like Vancouver is hesitant to trade him. Ruthford says that if the agree on a deal, great, but if they don’t, he’s gone. He then goes on to say that Horvat is 100% staying basically

Causal dunking is fine so long as it doesn't derail the thread.

Whatever the hell that was isn't going to be tolerated again.

I’m sorry. I know I’m on thin ice already. Sometimes it’s hard to hold back. Anyways, who are the oilers targeting now that brown isn’t available

Well, I'd set them up very differently than what Eakins will likely do. I would definitely play Carrick over Grant, he's a lot better. My lines would probably be something like:
Vatrano-Zegras-Terry (Vatrano can finish and some veteran presence with Terry & Z could help them too.)
Henrique-McTavish-Strome (I wouldn't move McTavish to Wing and I feel like he'd work well with Strome, Henrique can add an additional scoring threat.)
Comtois-Lundeström-Silfverberg (Not really the most dangerous line but maybe Comtois can become better defensively when on a line with these two. But if he picks up his scoring game again and Lundy and Silfvy can elevate their playmaking a bit, the line could be better than expected.)
Jones-Groulx-Carrick

But Eakins will definitely play Grant, he loves him for whatever reason. I also think he might move McTavish to Wing which, I think, would be a mistake but who knows.

How’d you think Jones bounces back after his injury, i feel like he’s the perfect guy to be a 3rd liner talent wise

I get that you're a fan of Drouin's and want to think the best of him and that's perfectly fine.

I did base my comment on the fact that Drouin is, at least if I recall correctly, like the only active player who has taken a leave of absence from his team. Whatever he had to deal with back then is something we can't be fully sure of, but you'd have to think he had some issues that made him think he's of no importance for his own team that were actually fighting of cup that year to everyone's surprise. My guess is that the pressure around Montreal got to him and he started to question himself, but this is conjecture as I have no actual proof on what the issue was in the end.

As for why I'd like to see him play for a small market team with no much pressure on himself is to ascertain these thoughts, cuz if he can perform there even close up to his immense potential he had back when he was in his early twenties, he's gonna look like a very different player he is today.

From the young days when he requested for a trade from Tampa to the struggle of recent years, health problems and the hiatus he took it's inconceivable that he's got himself a certain "reputation" amongst hockey folks.

Thanks for the thoughtful response.

Jo did speak on his leaving the team last year, and the reason Drouin took his sabbatical from hockey was because of anxiety and insomnia that he suffered with. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/canadiens-drouin-easy-root-comeback-anxiety-insomnia/sn-amp/

He’s a wonderful man and from all his interviews he seems to love playing in Montréal for his childhood team. (Although I recognize that he might be saying that because it’s the only thing he really can say.) But if he truly does feel that way, I really hope he can enjoy playing in Montréal for as long as he wants.

agreed, I don’t see a team with Kerfoot on this roster now that Engvall is signed at that AAV.

Holl was always gone IMO

Honestly I'm fine with the deal as if he regresses then we don't got to worry for more than a year. If he does well give him a Foegele deal.

Situation honestly is pretty much a mirror image of what Foegele did

Ok so Leafs situation :
Assuming they give Sandin same contract as Liljgren.
They have to move Kerfoot to be able to have a 21 or 22 man roster . With only Holl , it won’t fit

Yeah so many teams are calling. That’s why there are so many rumours and he’s already been traded

Based on Pacioretty dump and Brown getting sold underpriced, Kerfoot is probably going to net Leafs like a fourth rounder at most.
