Trying to understand signing of Lankinen

Created by: Nik_SH

Description
It wasn't easy to understand Lankinen's signing, but I here is my version of reasons of such move:
1) In my opinion right now we have only 3 teams, that potentially need backup goalie:
-Oilers
-Flyers
-Coyotes
2) There is no reason to have Saros, Lankinen, Ingram, Askarov, Cooley and Vomacka at the same time. To much waste of talent.
3) Cooley and Vomacka likely has no value. Saros is truly untouchable.
So, after that seems like signing Lankinen should lead into trade one of - Askarov (god, please, no!) or Ingram (very unfortunate, I like him).
4) Askarov trade can happen even not to one of those 3 teams, that I mentioned earlier. But I do not wanna thinking about such scenario.
5) So let's talk about possible Ingram trades (from most likely to "em, what?").

5.1) EDM
Puljujärvi
in exchange for
Ingram + 2023 3rd + Campbell
--Most possible and realistic scenario, NSH likes Finn's, likes young "promising" big forwards. Rumors that Nashville's interesting in Puljujärvi also add additional believe in such scenario.

5.2) PHI
JVR(50% retained)
in exchange for
Ingram

5.3) ARZ
Crouse
in exchange for
Ingram + Evangelista

5.4) PHI
Konecny
in exchange for
Ingram + 2023 2nd + Evangelista

Yeah Holland has said multiple times they intend to go with Soup and Stew. Skinner got more NHL games in than Ingram last season and played well, would not be any kind of clear upgrade.

I could see Holland wanting askarov for jp. Nashville interest in jp hasn't reached that point yet.

Cooley and vomacka were echl caliber goalies with the notable exception of Cooley having a hot streak in the ahl playoffs.

Askarov needs a season in the ahl and needs a backup/competitor

Ingram/Lankinen can battle for nhl backup to Saros. I hope we carry both and rotate goaltending so Saros isn’t playing 67 games again this season

This is the most likely scenario. We can easily send Lank down to Milwaukee and bury most of the contract if Ingram is outplaying him. But Ingram has been a very volatile prospect, so I can see why the Preds don't feel ready to rely on him as a solid backup quite yet.
