Isles legit say no to every trade listed here. Why are you cap dumping Varly? Seriously wtf?

Wouldn’t cost a first to dump bailey either. Toffoli isn’t worth more than Beauvillier imo either. This is the worst ACGM I’ve ever seen.

This is really bad for the Isles.

Panik can be waived and a team will pick him up to put in the minors as his cap hit is only $250K.
Bailey has value and can be traded for a 3rd.
Anderson is done and would be a horrendous backup.
Way too much for Toffoli, Beau is the only top 6 forward with speed and should not be traded.
Trading Varly with a 1st to get a 2nd is the worst of all of these moves, Varly can be traded for a 2nd himself.
Milano is nothing special, he is just a home town kid but not better then anything we have now.
Niederreiter signing would immediately becoming the worse signing of Free Agency.

I’d honestly be fine with this roster if Lou just signs Sonny Milano and calls it a day lol. This is ten steps backwards lol.

Milano is a good player. When you look at his metrics you can see he has a very well rounded game.

Yeah you’re right we don’t need any picks who need top prospects when you got overpaid 30 year olds

I am not sure I follow here. All I’m saying is that they shouldn’t pay to dump veterans. And they should be willing to give Raty, Dufour and Holmstrom a chance before they sell the farm for a veteran winger 🤷‍♂️

I’m assuming you just mean that Lou doesn’t want picks when he has veterans instead lol.

Milano is nothing better then what the Isles have now, he does not replace Lee, Palmeri, Beau, Wahlstrom, Parise or Bellows who as of now are the top-9 forwards. The Isles either need to get a high end W, or those will be the top-9 W's next year.

I left out Bailey on purpose.

He has good metrics and is a good creator in transition. But I agree that it is hard to find a spot for him unless they make a trade for a star winger.

Plus he’s fast which is rare for the islanders forward core and he’s from Long Island

His dad is a season ticket holder. If you sign him you are hoping he can have a Marchment/Bunting level impact on your roster. Or something similar to that.

Honestly they can only play bellows and Wally if Parise is on the 4th line. And unless they trade Beau I think that’s what gonna end up happening.

I really like Robin Salo, but if Lou traded Beau for someone like Dunn and signed Milano to replace him I’d be ok with that. Having 3 strong d pairs that can provide offense would probably make up for any talent deficiency they have on the wing anyway.

I’d rather keep Beau I think he’s going to bounce back and would try and move Bailey for literally anything then sign Milano I don’t hate our d core at the moment I want to see what Romanov can do first and Salo should step it up this season

I don’t disagree but I don’t think they are gonna move Bailey. More likely scenario is that they would have to package Beau + other key assets to add a star winger. I would think long and hard about acquiring Patrick Laine but I don’t think isles have the assets to do it.

I also don’t know if they move Beau he was greeting the newly drafted islanders at the draft, I wish Lou had protected Eberle over Bailey but it’s in the last, Laine would be good but i just don’t think it’s very likely we get him especially from a division rival

As weird as this sounds I think Lou is betting on internal improvement from guys like bellows, Wally and beau. I also think he likes Raty, Dufour and Holmstrom too. Maybe he thinks he has a star winger in the organization already.

Tbh I thought bellows was better than Wally and Beau last year. I hope he gets a real chance next year cause I think he’s one of those guys who can be a really good supporting player in a middle six or top six role.

Buffalo not trading someone they just sign they are still waiting on UPL if anything this would be a trade deadline deal if the Sabers where clearly out of the playoffs.

I don't have a problem taking a flyer on Milano (thinking the Kubalik deal, 2x$2.5M tops). I think he's better than Bellows at this point and produced similarly to Parise's numbers last year. He's 26, he's fast, and gives us flexibility to not have to rely on 17-53-15 being the 4th line every single night.
