Not sure on value. Point here is that NYI want to sign Kadri (and were after JT Miller) so it seems like Nelson could be available. To get Kadri Lou has to clear cap. Nelson has a 16 team NTC which would affect his trade value. Avs facilitate for Lou to get capspace for Kadri, and in return would get a two year younger 2C at $6m, lower than what Kadri's likely aav will be, and with more manageable 3 year term.

Brock Nelson is very underrated I feel, he would be a good acquisition for the avs.

Interesting idea, but what the Isles need is an elite winger. I’m guessing Colorado has no interest in offloading Rantanen, Landeskog or Nichuskin for Brock.

The only other piece I could see the I shoes wanting would be Toews, but I also feel like Colorado would rightly say no. Cool concept, but what the Isles want isn’t for sale from the Avs.

I think the only way NYI parts with Nelson is if they are getting an upgrade back. Doubt they are interested in a collection of lesser pieces or a basket of futures

No reason to trade Nelson when He’s better than kadri

Nelson is on a solid contract, just scored 37 goals last season. They are not trading Nelson to overpay Kadri

i would rather have nelson on his deal than kadri on whatever inevitable albatross contract he signs. kadri's not enough of an upgrade for it to matter. i could see them having interest in girard but other than that idk who the avs would offer that we'd want.

Moving Nelson means the Isles are going for a full culture change, don’t see that happening this off-season.

Nelson is the most underrated center in the league imo but i don’t see Colorado and NYI as good trade partners for a blockbuster deal.
